Prosthodontics Dentistry
Prosthodontics is a specialty in the field of dentistry that deals with resolving issues associated with missing or impaired teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues with biocompatible substitutes. Prosthodontists have graduated from dental school and then have had three additional years of advanced education and training in a post-graduate program that has been accredited by the American Dental Association.

Restorative Dentistry
Restorative dentistry centers around bringing the mouth back to full functionality. Even if the proper preventative measures have been taken, it is possible that restoration still may need to take place. Unavoidable causes, like accidents and genetics, may put a patient at a higher risk of needing restorative procedures at some time in his or her life.

Preventive Dentistry
To keep your teeth and gums healthy, every dentist will tell you that you need to maintaining your oral hygiene daily. We want to help you prevent potential issues before they even start to develop. Prevention helps you avoid pain down the line as well as steep costs due to necessary restorative procedures.
SUCCESS STORIES
REVIEWS & TESTIMONIALS
While I have inherited some positive physical characteristics from each of my parents (height and a nose with a bridge from dad, decent complexion and juiciness from mom), I have also inherited some bad (poor vision from dad, crooked teeth from mom).
The poor vision will one day be corrected by my sister, Dr. P., after she has performed at least 1,000 Lasik procedures but my teeth have been a work in progress for a while.
The sounds of any dental equipment, whirring, grinding, screechy noises and that distinctive smell dentist offices have, give me nightmares to this day. My mom was not going to let me end up with her messed up grill (thanks, mom!) so every time I went to the dentist, and I went a lot, my mouth was numbed by painful shots and I lost one, two or three teeth. My propensity for indulging in sweets (from dad) combined with my baby teeth not coming out quick enough and my small mouth (I don't know where this came from) made every visit the stuff nightmares are made of.
On top of the painful dental procedures which I had done in K-town in LA, we always went for Korean barbecue after. Because I had holes in my mouth, on top of the fact that I inevitably bit my tongue because it was still numb, I was thoroughly disgusted each time. Maybe this is why I don't miss LA much.
My trauma ended around the 7th or 8th grade when I finally didn't need my retainer anymore and my visits to the dentist have been spotty at best ever since. I knew it was time to make an appointment because it had been 2 years and I guess I chomp my teeth in my sleep so I wanted to make sure I wasn't causing any damage.
Based on a recommendation, I went to Dr. Jew. He was informative as he examined me, as well as when he had to fix a filling, and his staff were all great. I ended up needing deep cleaning which required shots so they could dig around my gums. Gross, I know. The sounds and the shots brought back all the memories I had suppressed but he and the hygienist who worked on me, Cheryl(sp?), were surprisingly soothing.
It was as good as a dental experience could be. Now my chompers and gums are super clean. Yay.

Awesome dentist!! Really, the best dentist I have ever dealt with. Highly recommended.

By referral from a friend, I found myself at Thomas C Jew DDS for a host of problems stemming from bad childhood habits combined with old world thinking from immigrant parents. While I would not wish a dentist appointment on anyone, if you find yourself with the misfortune of needing work done, I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Jew and his staff. My initial examination and quick education from Dr. Kang (the hygienist) and Dr. Jew gave me more information than years of visits to a different dentist. Dr. Jew clearly and patiently explained to me what needed to be done along with why, and found time to squeeze me into his busy schedule. I was given options where possible and Dr. Jew kept me thoroughly updated throughout the process of what he was doing and what to expect. While they couldn't make the actual experience of a dentist visit more pleasant (through no fault of their own), Dr. Jew and his staff definitely achieve high marks in everything else.

I've been going to Dr Jew for quite a few years as he was recommended to us when my daughter had braces. We were new to this area. I've had every dental problem there is and Dr Jew was on it. Does what he needs to do and does it well. He lets you know whats going on and his staff is also on the ball. So if you need a very good dentist, this is your guy.

Dr. Jew and his staff are great! I have been going to Dr. Jew for over 13 years now and I have nothing negative to say about my experience. He is a good dentist and only does what is necessary and does not try to get you to do things so he can make money off of you. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family!!
